Job Title: Assistant Professor of Geology. Tenure-track position
Department: Biological Geo Phy Sciences
Posting Date: 03/30/2017
End Date: Until Filled
Required: Ph.D. required. Must be able to teach a broad range of courses in Geology and related fields.
Preferred Preference given for specialization in Tectonic Geomorphology, Vertebrate Paleontology, and/or Igneous Petrology.
Primary Responsibilities: Teach 12 semester credit hours (four courses) per semester. The likely teaching load will a physical geology section, one or two advanced undergraduate geology class in ones field, and a graduate class per semester. Position is Security Sensitive.
Responsible for personal safety and the safety of others; must exercise due caution and practice safe work habits at all times.
Other Information: Texas Law requires a 60 day waiting period before new state employees are eligible to enroll in health insurance.

About SRSU: The Department of Biology, Geology, and Physical Sciences offers BS and MS degrees in biology, chemistry, and geology. The graduate programs in Biology and Geology enrolls approximately thirty students each, primarily thesis seeking.
