Intern, Mollusk Collection Digitization
The Field Museum – Chicago, IL

The Field Museum’s Gantz Family Collections Center is seeking a full-time intern for a 9-1/2 week paid internship to start in May or late June to work on the mollusk collection transferred to the Field Museum from the Cleveland Museum of Natural History.

Responsibilities:
Catalogue several thousand lots of mollusk shells
Work hands-on with specimens and our EMu database
Verify accuracy of species names using on-line resources
Generate specimen labels from the database, help with organizing the collection

Qualifications:
Undergraduate in biology or paleontology

Required:
Basic computer skills
Basic knowledge of zoological systematics

Preferred:
Database experience, knowledge of mollusk systematics are not required but are a plus”
