Position Title: Geology Instructor, Part-Time
Position Type: Faculty Part Time Pool
Percentage Employee: Not to exceed 60%
Starting Date: As needed – This is to establish a pool for future part-time teaching positions.

Master’s degree in geology, geophysics, earth sciences, meteorology, oceanography or paleontology
Bachelor’s degree in geology AND Master’s in geography, physics, or geochemistry
A valid California Community College Credential authorizing service in the appropriate subject matter
Demonstrate a sensitivity to, and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
The Equivalency is: GEOLOGY: A Bachelor’s degree in geology AND one of the following: 1. A Master’s degree in geography, physics, or geochemistry OR 2. A Master’s degree in a natural science and the completion of a minimum of 15 units of upper division and 15 units of graduate level coursework in Geology.
Assignment may include teaching courses as assigned during day or evening, weekday or weekends or online.
Have a commitment to professional excellence and continuous growth in the fields of teaching.
Other professional responsibilities and activities normally expected of members of community college faculty as described by Board Policies and the California Education code.
Any degree from a country other than the United States, including Canada and Great Britain, must be evaluated by an Evaluation Service prior to the closing date. Certification must be attached with copies of transcripts.
