“Two-Term Position in Paleontology and Historical Geology
Cornell College – Mount Vernon, IA
Cornell College, a private undergraduate liberal arts college founded in 1853 in Mount Vernon, Iowa, invites applications for a two-course/two-month position in its Department of Geology for the fall of 2017. The successful candidate will teach an introductory course in historical geology and a sophomore level course in paleontology. Cornell College operates on the One-Course-At-A-Time academic calendar (also called the block plan) in which students take, and faculty teach, one course at a time in month-long terms. Historical Geology is offered in Term 1 (September 4-27) and Paleontology is offered in Term 2 (October 2-October 25).
A Ph.D. (or ABD) is preferred although masters level candidates will be considered. Teaching experience at the college level is preferred.
